What to Expect

Upon confirming your appointment, the staff of Bare Aesthetics will review your procedure and answer all of your questions. Just before your appointment, you need to wash and shave the area to be treated - keeping it free of lotions, creams, deodorant, makeup, etc. Your skin must be squeaky clean and dry!

Depending on the area being targeted, your treatment will take from ten minutes to an hour. You'll receive eye protection before testing the laser on a small area to see how the skin reacts. If the skin reaction is within normal range, we'll use a small hand piece to deliver laser light to the skin. Each pulse, which lasts less than a second, produces a slight tingling feeling. In more sensitive areas, it may be comparable to a rubber band snapping the skin.

Our most popular service, Laser hair removal, is considered a "lunch hour" treatment because there is no recovery time! It is normal for the skin to be pink or red after treatment, which may last from a few hours to a few days (it can be relieved by applying aloe vera or a cool compress).

Removal of vascular or pigmented lesions may require more downtime. Treated areas may scab over, with new pink skin emerging underneath. It is vital that you wear sunscreen of SPF30 or higher for several weeks after these treatments (or just wear it all the time anyway!)
